BACKGROUND
- Over 30 years of Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas project experience, with primary emphasis on the delivery and contract and portfolio management of EPC contract and service contracts. Experience is predominantly in brownfield projects.
- Contracts worked on comprised of FEED studies to a bigger scale frame maintenance reliability contracts and rejuvenation on existing facilities with equivalent 400-500k offshore hours per year.
- The skillset accumulated over the years has been successfully adapted over various contexts, such as Interface Management, Business Development Studies (FEED & Conceptual), Construction & Fabrication Yard set-up, Building contracts and Departmental management which has led to an aptitude to developing avenues for optimization of the contract in terms of efficiency through initiatives such as improved ways of working, value added, cost savings, incentivization and gainshare.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
COUNTRY DIRECTOR, KENT
- Set up the in-country JV which includes bringing in the 2 contracts over the line for award and delivery.
- Upon award, the role translated to ramping up and mobilization of resources to in country offices, fabrication yard and site offices to execute the contracts.
- The role includes acting as General Manager of the JV where responsibilities include managing the P&L of the portfolio and support business development of the JV to support growth.
OPERATIONS MANAGER, WOOD
- This position takes full accountability of the Contract’s EPC delivery which comprises of four to nine projects in the different phases at any one time.
- Manage essential provision for Marine Spread and Services directly feeding into the project’s readiness e.g. fabrication, material, warehousing, storage, preservation, load outs, logistics and including subcontractors’ coordination.
- Actively participated in readiness assurances reviews through rigorous process at every juncture of the Project’s phase with increasing detailed checks towards TA or Shutdown.
- Key executions drivers are safe and flawless ones. Readiness and good planning assure these.
- My accountability extends into contributing all aspects of maintaining a high standard of WOOD’s reputation, sustain commerciality, and continuously striving for an efficient and flawless delivery by the WOOD organization to deliver in this Contract to Client.
- Lead and participate towards continuous improvement initiatives through lessons learnt and incentivization as part of the gainshare elements of the contract, maximizing value added initiatives, Contractor, and Client.
GENERAL MANAGER, SHIKA SDN BHD
- Contract Manager for ORMC Offshore Scaffolding Contract

- Includes overseeing Business Development opportunities and ensuring sustainability of the company. As Contract Manager for ORMC Offshore Scaffolding Contract, responsible for securing a 3-year extension and negotiations towards a new Contractual Context. Also involved in identifying safe and cost-effective ways for operations and ensuring that all operations are properly planned and managed.
PROJECT MANAGER ORYX PETROLEUM, GENEVA, SWITZERLAND
- Responsible in bringing the conceptual study for a Permanent Production Facility through several changes to accommodate changes in not only Technical Basis of Design but also changes in Company’s Business strategy.
- A FEED (Front End Engineering Design) was developed at a Functional Specification level to be able to call for an EPC immediately
MAR 2010 FACILITIES ENGINEER / PROJECT MANAGER FOR OBANGUE BROWNFIELD EXPANSION PROJECT (OBEP), ADDAX PETROLEUM, GENEVA, SWITZERLAND
- Responsible for bringing OBEP from its framing stages to the FEED stage.
- Primary role was to establish & present project strategy to management, manage engineering subcontracts & coordinate interface with other projects and relevant disciplines.
OCT 08 – DEC 09 WARRI CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR ESCRAVOS GTL PLANT, NIGERIA
- Primary responsibility was to set up the Warri Fabrication Yard, as support to the main EGTL Plant. Sub-Contracts were for the Prefabrication of pipe spools, Assembly of Structural Steel & Blasting & Painting facility.
- This included the preparation of a scope of work, contractual strategy, community and local content, feasible work plan, security, scheduling, manning and eventually, a complete cost estimate.

ACHIEVEMENTS
- Improved delivery of projects for the WOOD Rejuvenation contract over the years for the Client which led the way to 2 extensions to the Contract and an increase in revenue for WOOD.
- Renegotiated and secured an extension for SHIKA on the ORMC Contract and was able to implement and improve ways of working within a local company to turn around the project into a profitable one for the Company.
- Transformation of Warri Port into a satellite prefabrication and structural assembly yard to support Escravos GTL Project resulting in an efficient solution to a very congested construction space on the island.
- Implemented a frame contract in place of individual POs to optimise planning, cost and quality standards of project delivery for Total Angola
