2020- 2023 Director; National Services; VEOLIA 

Responsible for successfully leading a 500 strong team who provided safe, innovative and robust solutions to Industrial, Municipal and Commercial customers in the areas of Industrial Services, Decontamination, Energy Efficiency, Demolition, District Heating, Combined Heat and Power and De-watering across UK/ Ireland, Europe and Worldwide. Annual revenues >£120mln grown 25%.  

 

2018 - 2020 Regional Operations Director; Bilfinger UK 

Responsible for delivering excellence across the portfolio of engineering, maintenance and STO services offered in the UK to major Clients, from tender through to completion. 

These included directing Construction and Turnaround maintenance works with ExxonMobil at and an Integrated Maintenance Contract alongside a revised maintenance management process with Sabic. 

 

2011 - 2018   Turnaround Event Manager; ESSAR OIL UK LTD  

Responsible for leading all multi-Unit and single-Unit STOs at Stanlow Manufacturing Complex (a Top Tier COMAH Site). Capabilities demonstrated on over 30 separate Events; ranging from £2mln -£100mln in expenditure and 10k-1mln execution hours/ 100-3000 people, incorporating both Maintenance and Major Project scopes of work. 

High capability in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver against stretching targets on cost and schedule whilst meeting all applicable legislative requirements.  

Proven track record of delivery: 'Goal Zero' Safety performance, process-safety incident free shut-down and start-up phases; execution of the correct scope of work, in the optimal duration, at lowest cost whilst delivering the reliability levels necessary to meet/ exceed business performance targets.  

Industrial Relations leader for Essar Oil UK Ltd; highly experienced in executing successful Projects and Turnarounds with a Unionised workforce. Member of Site Leadership Team and Crisis Manager for Essar Oil UK Ltd. 

 

2009 - 2011 Mechanical Engineering and Reliability Manager; Shell Stanlow Manufacturing Complex 

Accountable for Mechanical Engineering assurance on a Top Tier COMAH Site for both Essar and 3rdparty process units (replacement value circa $2bln).  Delivery of continuously improving asset management strategies for both static and machinery and delivering world-class (>98.5% pa) Unit availability/ reliability levels as well as optimised maintenance strategies for the life-cycle of individual equipment and Units.   

  • Site's Mechanical Engineering team (30 off Graduate/ Chartered Engineers).  
  • Work on Site handled strictly within UK, Industry and Group regulations and standards. Worked within, and supported development of, the Site Asset Management system under ISO9000-2000. 
  • All Site mechanical 3rd parties (20 separate Companies with over 200 employees).  
  • Technical support for Reliability Centred Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, MTBF improvements on machinery, Equipment and Unit Life plans. Plant improvement projects, Plant Changes and maintenance optimisation. 

 

2006 - 2009  Production Unit Manager/ Site Leadership Team. Distillation and Utilities; Shell

Accountable for production to meet demand requirements at maximised margin, cost effectively and safely. Achieved through Continuous improvement of the manufacturing site benchmarked performance whilst ensuring all production and maintenance activities undertaken in accordance with Group and legislative standards. The Production Unit comprised of 2 crude distillers (35KT/d), Kero treater, Sulphur processes, Boiler House and steam and electrical distribution systems. 

 

2001 - 2006  Team Leader: Pipelines, Tanks and Commercial Engineering; Shell Stanlow  Managed integrity and maintenance aspects of cross-country pipelines, off plot pipelines and tanks. 

  • Provided commercial management leadership to Maintenance activities including all STOs.  
  • Developed and implemented Engineering/Maintenance Contracting strategies.  
  • Contract management for all STOs and significant Maintenance Projects.  

 

1998 – 2001  SAP PM Project Engineer; Development/ Implementation; Shell Pernis and Shell Stanlow  

Team member responsible for the development and roll-out of SAP Plant Maintenance management system across Shell’s European refineries and petrochemicals businesses. Subsequently Manager responsible for the implementation of its functionality to ensure delivery of maximum business benefit.
